Anyway. I'm a big fan of Katy Perry but I am so, so disappointed she made that comment. There's no way to legitimate what she said. Katy herself also seems hypocrite in this way. I have a screenshot of one of her tweets saying "Remember to take care of your mental health. Talk with counselors/therapists/ur tribe. Lean on your friends, don't stop communicating". Why the fuck does use this to get a few laughs then? Doesn't make sense to me. Even if she didn't mean to insult Britney - I can imagine that she was even serious about being close to a mental breakdown sometimes - but she knows her following, she knows about stan culture, she knows about pop fans and I thought she was friends with Brit. She really should not say stuff like this. I hope we will get a statement where she, at least, makes some kind of excuse. It's important that she does not ignore the criticism and admits what she said was beyond stupid

I must ask, are a lot of you generally interested or mental health or just hate Katy? I mean, I remember a lot of way worse things said by certain users, and suddenly a comment on something so significant in pop culture turns you into anti-bullying advocates? I dunno, I feel like the sudden care in mental health issues is hollow. 

 

I'd rather she had not said anything about it, but girls we've all made fun of it way worse. I'm not gonna justify why she'd choose to comment on it, it was silly of her. I also find it quite sad that the thinks that a meltdown is inevitable for herself, so I hope she educates herself in that area not only to benefit her, but to also understand it better in others.
