6 years since Gaga released her most important single

Recommended Posts

I'm of course talking about "Born This Way", the song has become a queer anthem and as well as an anthem for equality in general. The song was her 3rd #1 hit in the U.S. and peaked at #3 in the U.K. becoming her 7th top 10 hit in the country.

Outside of the charts, Born This Way became the first song in history to explicitly  use the term "transgender" on radio, has become a solidified anthem at almost every pride parade worldwide since it's release and has even contributed towards the actual phrase "Born This Way" becoming a positive cliché. Born This Way also marked a shift in Gaga's direction and attitude where she went from being a hit making popstar, to an advocate and philanthropist who helped overturn laws like DADT and Prop8 (amongst many other celebrities). Gaga then went on to craft what is arguably [in my opinion] one of the best contemporary pop albums and the song/album even started a trend of explicit 80s sounding/influenced music that is still going today.

Happy Anniversary to the most important contemporary pop song! cheer1

All we got was a 5 second snippet that leaked in like 2013 and I'm pressed tbh

Gaga when fans ask if she's ever gonna release the alt version:
