Still, i won't judge her because i'm not perfect either, i mean we all lie and sometimes get caught up in our lies, right?  i just wanted to understand her reasons for it, maybe she just wanted a more eventful narrative than the actual one, who knows, maybe she said it because she just wanted to motivate others and to be viewed as a heroine back then, only god knows her intentions behind it.

 

I don't think she herself knows what her 35 year old intentions were lmao (which is why it's stupid for her to claim she should tell her own story or whatever), she probably can't remember the lyrics to most of her 80s album tracks, let alone tell a consistent story 

But regardless, it's embarrassing that she chose to protest in such an ill mannered behavior on social media pretending like the writer is out to make her look bad when it couldn't be further from the truth. The Madonna I know would have recognized the movie's potential to start a conversation and take the writer's twist (or not as seen from your thread lmfao) as her own artistic right and eventually save her comments to tweak the truth after the movie is out in public.

I, as a Madonna fan, think that her critiquing them using Detroit rather than Bay City is a little trivial because they're basically the same fucking place. Secondly, she did say high school drop out, though it was sarcastic, she said it. However, having read the script (it was a Hollywood Black List script meaning anyone who wanted to read it could...you can't know because a major studio bought it but for a whole year you could read the script start to finish so don't tell me you couldn't because you could and I did. Some of ya'll tried that already, so shhh) there are several things in there that are false about her, as well as people she worked with. Her family is portrayed as greedy and assholes (which didn't happen 'til the 90's...lol jk jk...except for that one druggie brother her Dad gave up on but eh whatever). And John "Jellybean" is NOT portrayed accurately in anyway. He is made to look like a little ass kisser which he was not. They also get many of facts of songs wrong such as writers, producers, and even recording sessions which isn't hurtful to her career but it's just lazy screenwriting. Anyway, long way around is that yes she said these things, but there is plenty in the script she should be upset about, but these weren't the best examples she could have used.
