the official uk chart was released and Witness debuted at number 6 whilst Joanne had debuted at number 3. currently on itunes witness has left the top 20 on most major markets whilst joanne was still number 1 worldwide at this point. 

Katy has a big lead single compared to Gagas but her other releases have stalled whilst Gaga had a top 20 and top 5 hit. Katy has only had 1 top 20 hit this era.

On metacritic Joannes rating is 67 whilst Witness is 51. 

They have also both promoted their records a lot but so far it looks like Joanne is doing better then Witness did. 

I guess if Witness debuts at number one on the album 200 with more sales then gaga then it will make it pretty fair
