same oprah1 i remember when everyone turned their back on them. friends who used to listen to them with me, hated them because of their opinion. it pissed me off tbh. like they were just listening to them with me one day and straight up hating the next. because of a fucking opinion of one of the memebers -.- ugh they got so much hate for no reason made me so sad. don't even get me started on the toby shit kesha2

What Natalie said wasn't even that bad, and a few years later during Obama's presidency, country artists insulted the president all the time and none of their careers were ruined. Plus she turned out to be right about how useless the Iraq War was, and Green Day pretty much said the same thing and had a hit era because of it. That whole ordeal was so unfair (death threats, their houses being vandalized, their albums being pulled from stores...I mean, really? wendy4 ) I'm just glad they were able to receive justice with an amazing comeback and stick it to their haters.

women in country music were not allowed to have opinions that was the problem. i remember the videos of "fans" burning their albums or running them over with their car and shit. was so pointless.

I think you mean "are" if the reactions to their recent Beyonce performance are anything to go by. giveup1

But you're absolutely right. There are videos of moms taking their children to protest outside of their concerts and teaching them to chant all sorts of awful things about them - they were put into their documentary called Shut Up & Sing, and it's actually what they're referencing on Not Ready to Make Nice with the line "It's a sad, sad story when a mother will teach her daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger." noway1

I love pop and its branches

I love baroque pop, alternative pop, etc

I also love trip hop A LOT

I hate it when they call it trip hop, it's just downtempo music there is no hip hop elements to it dead7 or am I listening to the wrong kind of trip hop

OT: Mainstream pop, synth-pop, 80s pop, alternative pop, indie pop, pop-rock, electro-pop, etc etc! and I like electronic music too

I used to love indie/aletrnative rock but now every indie band sounds the same so I think pop is the only interesting genre nowdays. I love electronic and alternative but pop music is so elastic, there are so many ways to exploit it.

I've read before that it's called trip hop because it's like, "psychedelic hip hop"

I.e. Trip as in you're tripping on drugs

dead7

Trip hop has different styles tho. There is trip hop with elements of hip hop and R&B, as well as Jazz (E.g. Through The Years by Kylie sia1 ), mostly in relation to the beat of the song and the progression.  If that makes sense dead7

There is a lot of trip hop that is downtempo without the typical hip hop elements (e.g. Say Hey by Kylie sia1 ).

Then you have trip hop that is basically hip hop and or R&B but it has a stylistic nuance that makes it closer to trip hop (e.g. Surrender by Kylie sia2 )

There's also minimal trip hop (e.g. Dangerous Game by Kylie sia1 )

And classic trip hop (Put Yourself In My Place by Kylie kylie2 )

out of all of them I think Say Hey is the kind of trip hop that I'm familiar with, the wikipedia definition is "the mixture of electronica and hip-hop until both becomes undistinguishable" or something, which really just sounds like really slow electronic music to me dead7

london grammar which is one of my favourite bands is classified as "trip hop" and yes I do feel quite high listening to their beautiful vocals kylie2

Definitely. Pop has been my favorite for many years and I don't see that changing even as my taste evolves. I like to have fun. Pop, R&B, and Hip Hop is my trinity.

Most of Madonna's albums you could buy in store so it was a lot cheaper, but her singles were a bitch to collect dead4

I like alot of genres but I'm mostly hood aka R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul!

Why not? I love instrumental music because I grew up learning classical piano, and it makes things exciting because I have a vivid imagination and I can pretend I'm inside of a movie or a fairy tale o

I love pop and its branches I love baroque pop, alternative pop, etc I also love trip hop A LOT
