Kylie Minogue Hits The Studio With Club King DJ Fresh

Recommended Posts

After surprising fans with a string of studio sessions in Nashville, Kylie Minogue retreats to more familiar territory by hitting the studio with club producer DJ Fresh (he has racked up UK top 10 hits with “Gravity,” “Earthquake,” “The Power” and “Hot Right Now” — to name a few) and long-time collaborator Karen Poole. Her fingerprints are all over Kylie’s iconic discography, co-writing “Red Blooded Woman,” “Chocolate,” “Wow” and “Timebomb.” This feels the perfect combination of old and new.

It will also come as something of a relief to Lovers, who can now cancel their orders for cowboy boots and chaps. While there could still be a Nashville element on Kylie’s 14th album (she worked with Taylor Swift’s go-to producer Nathan Chapman, among other country heavy-hitters), the direction still seems to be dance-pop. Fingers crossed, we hear something new from the 49-year-old before the end of the year. The only thing that can save 2017 is the “great, big, classic Kylie pop record” BMG promised us.

Why a lot of people assume that because she was in Nashville she was recording country music is beyond me. It's been a common location for pop stars to record since the late 90s. It's not LA, Stockholm, NYC, or London, but it's not Kathmandu either.

There's a fresh update on Kylie Minogue's new album: she's been working with a Number 1-hitmaking DJ

The Australian pop icon has been pictured in the studio with dance hitmaker DJ Fresh, a good indication that Kylie is returning to the dancefloor bangers that ushered in a new era of success in the early 00s.

Also lending a hand in the studio were Dutch DJ duo TV Noise, and songwriter Karen Poole. Karen was formerly in the pop group Alisha’s Attic and has written material for the likes of Janet Jackson, Lily Allen and Will Young. Karen and Kylie have collaborated numerous times on hits such as Chocolate, Wow and Timebomb.

It’s also been confirmed that Kylie has worked with Sigala on her new LP, who is also no stranger to Top 10 hits in recent times. He currently occupies the Top 10 of the Official Singles Chart with his track Came Here For Love. More of the same for Kylie please!
