At 35/36, why are Brtiney and Christina flopping?

As if they need to. Madonna fans have to digest it first. End.

Feel free and post Mariah receipts from her flop decade (you can choose between 00s and 10s) that match these ones or even top them. I'll wait...

Selling 81,8m albums is not doing well?

40m singles, and 8m videos?

Overall +130m records

Having #1 tour of a decade by female artist (The Girlie Show)

15 top 10 singles in US (4 #1s, same as Whitney and only 2 less than Janet) and 24 in UK.

4 Grammys won

1 Golden Globe won

14 VMAs won

Mariah stans still trying to sell this myth that she was flop in 90s wendy4

King Angelus always...

Porndonna - uncool from 90s onwards.

Mariah Carey - had the "it" gurl eras for two decades. End.

Isn't this just a fan myth though? There are no receipts for it wendy4

The video :

She -allegedly- had a nervous breakdown and was medicated for that. In 2011, she wasn't feeling herself and looked robotic on stage and apparently it's the medication effects.

And back to her voice, Christina began to push her voice to the limit, acting as if she was Whitney thinking her voice could sustain it, but as we see know, she hasnt and her voice has already lost it's flavor.

Christina has been straining her vocals since the early 2000s. Her vocal technique and styling is pretty trash. She would  be a great singer if she didn't try so hard. She certainly has the pipes for it.

I don't really have an answer to the thread question, tho. Christina's release history is a mess. She debuted as a typical bubblegum pop star, but had the vocals to back it up. She waited too long to release another album (I'm not counting the spanish album, cause no one cares or remembers that. Stripped is basically her sophomore) and by then she had completely changed her image and sound. She didn't have a gradual change like Britney. And because of weak albums and not putting the energy into her career, she never had the longevity to begin with.

Some artists don't have a long lifeline of high success. Britney is one of them, I guess. Her breakdown didn't help her, she had a decent comeback – but can you really comeback? The two of them got success really early and had their peaks young. So, even though 35 is young, they had been releasing music since they were 17. You start early, you peak high.
