Was Christinas career ruined by the ridiculous length between albums?

I mean we could talk quality too, but honestly I feel like Bionic would've fared much better if it was released in 2008 like originally planned. Christina always talks about waiting so long so she can "bring the best quality" but this is the modern day and age. This is the Spotify age where you need to get your songs onto a hot playlist ASAP and rack up the YouTube views. You can't diddle around singing Oreo jingles for years and expect to come back to a #1 hit.

Girl needs to get her act together. Fucking Whitney Houston is releasing an album before she is.

You're talking about the length between Back to Basics and Bionic here? No, I don't think that was inherently a problem; it was pretty much the same amount of time between Stripped and Back to Basics.

That's true. But something happened between B2B and Bionic that made people stop caring. I don't remember what though tbh

She called gaga a dude and gaga 's dad ended her career.  Don't  mess with the mafia.

Industry has changed a lot?

Physical sales died, digital went up, whole new generation of artists blew up between BTB and Bionic. There was no room for her, if she chose to 'fight' maybe she would've been in different position now, but instead she just gave up...

Now if rumors were true that Gaga sabotaged Xtina in 2010, well that's another story moo1

Back to Basics was a cute era, but it definitely made her lose momentum bc it wasn't pop friendly. The wait between B2B and Bionic was certainly too long. She was basically absent from pop radio from 2007-2010 and by then the new generation of girls had come up so that's that. xtina11

Earlier in her career the long album waits weren't a problem since she was still doing things like Lady Marmalade and other side projects that kept her at the top. She even had an opportunity after Lotus to redeem herself and she blew it again. I felt like she found some new momentum with that streak of hit collabos between 2011-2014. She could've done a bunch of more of those while we wait for X6, but instead she's gone silent. xtina11

I agree with what you said

Yes. Waiting four years twice (from Stripped to Back To Basics to Bionic) was not a good decision at all. She could have halved the gap and released two albums more, in order to become more established. She probably wouldn't have vanished so dramatically in that case.

idk but Keeps Gettin Better was a top ten hit less then two years before Bionic was released. I think the sound and image she went for may of worked in 2008 but by the time it was released in 2010 it came across as trend hopping

Many people honestly weren't aware of gaga at all, but somebody dropped a comparison after the VMA's, and the tide changed so much, she was labelled as a trend-stealer wendy4

XXL's career died for Gaga's exposure tbh, have rihspect moo4
