Yes, but the music we're talking about is basically from people in her age group  awk1 (Taylor, Demi, Katy, Gaga, Rih...)

Yeah, but considering her "musical inspirations" are Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, Metal Bands, etc. I highly doubt she listens to Katy, Demi, Taylor ny6

Praying didn't chart in Germany cry5

Warrior was #81 and Rainbow #33!

Germany is basically THE hardest market for pop girls in the world. When a pop song becomes a hit in Germany, it can become a hit everywhere. You might have noticed that album release partys are often in Germany (Gaga did her's for Artpop in Berlin and P!nk's for TTAB was also in Germany, for example) and there are often German bonus tracks or special physical releases to boost the sales because the German market is so hard.

Really? Is there a reason why it's so hard to hit charts in Germany?

Makes sense that there are so many release parties there though, damn. I never knew! rih1

I wonder why that is? jj4

Honestly, I keep asking myself that question like everyday. Pop girls are only successful in Germany if they are bit "unconventional" - Rihanna is probably the most successful pop star in Germany because she's black and also does rap and other things, P!nk is also very successful because she is established, has more of a rock voice and only recently started doing real pop music, and so on. But Germany is not here for Demi, Kesha, Ariana...

And my country's taste is weird in general. It's actually a complete mess - there is no pre-advantage for pop music. And the German music scene is very big, that might make it harder for "world stars".
