All shade and stan wars aside, it's really annoying she's not supported on Spotify though. Like how are you not going to include Madonna on 80's / Dance / Pop / Classic playlists brit10 Whitney / MJ are literally milked on top of every playlist you could think of - 80's,90's, love songs, ballads holidays etc jay1 I'm not mad, they're legends and deserve it but at least sprinkle some good old Madonna there as well. scream2

At least we know Madonna's 6,500,000 listeners per month are actually searching for her music, not cause her songs comes out from random playlists ..that's something, isn't? sass1

Digital Singles Sales:

As we are reviewing the most successful artists of our digital era, we already studied several acts with more than 100 million downloads sold. At more than 111 million, Lady Gaga is one of them.

The most striking fact is how much weight The Fame has on her catalog with over 70 million copies sold by its songs, an unmatchable total. Everything from this record turned into gold, including its album tracks that sold incredibly well. We do not even need to mention how big Just Dance, Poker Face and Bad Romance have been.

Born This Way hits started strong too but slowed down much faster than singles from previous album. In the same way, Artpop first two singles did OK-ish but subsequent extracts did not garner enough sales to even consider their individual numbers.

  1. Poker Face – 16,300,000
  2. Just Dance – 11,500,000
  3. Bad Romance – 10,800,000

The equivalent album sales is the division of the comprehensive streaming figure by 1500 as it is now the norm in the new industry model.

CSPCLadyGagaPart1.png

Considering how many years later Streaming exploded, it is pretty insane to see Alejandro barely #5  biggest song from The Fame in spite of a massive 79 million plays. With as many as 14 songs over 10 million and all songs issued as singles over 38 million, it is no surprise to see the album total album sales equivalent generated by streaming at more than 1,3 million.

Born This Way songs are undoubtedly on a lower scale but five songs over 23 million is nothing to be ashamed of. In total, the record is up to 468,000 album sales equivalent.

CSPCLadyGagaPart2.png

Whatever the way you look at it, when you are one of the most hyped and followed artists worldwide those figures are truly bad. Both Applause and Do What You Want results are quite decent but everything else is rather low for material released in recent years.

Lady Gaga has 83 songs available on Spotify, 58 of them fail to reach the 10 million mark. Worst, out of those 42 mostly later songs in this last screenshot, a mere 6 top that 10 million barrier.

The equivalent album sales is the division of the comprehensive streaming figure by 1500 as it is now the norm in the new industry model.

All Katy Perry songs pre-date the true explosion of streaming. Still, all her singles figure among the biggest streaming hits of their respective years.

Dark Horse is possibly the most impressive as the 2013 hit is closing in 400 million Spotify plays, enough to make it one of the Top 10 hits to date from that year.

What continues to impress on the artist discography is the overall strength of Teenage Dream. At nearly 63 million plays, Part Of Me is merely the eight most played track of this record, an absolutely terrific achievement.

In terms of sales equivalent, that album generates nearly 1,6 million units, close from Prism 1,9 million figure.

Actual relavence today, sure it’s selling good and gets YouTube views, but it’s significantly more forgotten or not as mentioned as her other singles. Vogue and Like A Virgin get routinely mentioned, even Like A Prayer, and her magnum Opus Substitute for God. La Isla Bonita gets mentioned by Stans and that’s it.  Almost everyone can name vogue or Lila a virgin if they hear them, but La Isla Bonita.

Hung up was uploaded in a fan channel until recently. That is why the views of that iconic mv are splitted between many different youtube channels.

It was uploaded on Oct 26, 2009, on Warner official channel.

Fan uploads and splitting views happen to WBT too yet the GP still dig it creep1

HU and WBT were released in 2005, and both were successful worldwide. You need to stop acting as if madonna is the only woman with success WW. She is the best selling female, but not the only woman that has had WW success.
