MADONNA PERFORMS NEW SONG FOR NEW YEAR'S

The performance begins with Madonna kneeling at an alter set up on the stage. She does the sign of the cross before standing. She wears a drape across her face. The sound of church bells ring.

She walks to the side of the stage and enters a confessional with the front wall missing so we can see inside. The song begins as the priest on the other side, wearing a red robe, opens the view window. Madonna sings the first verse of the song, talking about a lover that she knows is bad for her. She sensually moves in the confessional as she sings the lyrics with biting attitude. The lyrics talk of Madonna pushing the lover out of her life, “breaking the habit”. She steps out of her side of the confessional, rips the veil off, and grabs the priest by the collar. She pulls him center stage as the chorus comes in.

The chorus speaks of Madonna being able to move on but the lover being dependent on her. Madonna and the priest enter a tight and intricate routine as she sings. He goes to his knees and forces him up with her heel. She swings her leg toward his head but he dodges. She falls into his arms as he recovers, but he pushes her up to stand on her own. The next verse comes in as the priest goes to the alter. He kneels in front of it. Madonna steps up onto the alter and sings the verse standing above the priest. Madonna steps down from the alter and kneels next to the praying priest. She pushes him and he rolls to the center of the stage as the chorus returns. Madonna and the priest enter another routine.

She slides between his legs, grabbing his hand. He flips and she stand over him, putting her heel on his chest. She forces him up and grabs his collar. She rips away the priest’s red robeand steps toward him. Madonna takes him in a kiss as another woman appears on the stage. She reacts in horror to what she sees; this woman was the woman the man was cheating on Madonna with. She rushes over and helps Madonna continue wrestling him. The two of them work together and send the priest flying into the confessional with a kick. Madonna does the sign of the cross and walks off with the woman. Another priest comes on stage and looks into the confessional shocked. The man Madonna was fighting with was never the real priest, he was just posing as one to escape Madonna’s wrath. The real priest shakes his head and walks off, ending the performance.

Kelly Performs On New Years Rockin' Eve

Spoiler

Kelly Clarkson has been all over lately talking about and promoting her new album, ANALOG, and new single, “Bite”. The second single from the new album has just reached the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 and is proving to be yet another hit for the vocal diva. While the initial release of her ninth studio LP was rocky and controversial at start, things seem to be looking up and turning around as she has just sold an additional 200k copies of ANALOG in one week – besting its debut week numbers and pushing the album to selling nearly 500k copies.  Sales continued to increase for both the album and the new single this past week as well. This week, she just released a deluxe edition of ANALOG which features two new songs. The first, “Slave”, is a song leftover from the writing sessions for ANALOG. The second song, which is called, “Long Drive”, was taken from the writing sessions for Kelly’s last album, the Grammy Award winning, 3x platinum, Masquerade. To promote the new single and the new album, Kelly has been performing the new music all over, and just a few days ago she took to Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve to perform her new single, “Bite”.

While other artists might have taken this opportunity to showcase large production, Kelly was all centered on the music. With her vocals at the forefront, she took the stage in the freezing temperatures and focused on giving a stellar, vocally perfect performance. And while it could be seen that she was cold during the performance, after all, who wouldn’t be, she performed “Bite” with clarity and power. Her hair was styled elegantly and she wore a beautiful, yet simple black dress. During her performance, video played on the screens around the stage with scenes from the “Bite” music video which features appearances by other artists like Lana Del Rey, Mariah Carey, Maxence, and Brendon Urie. These scenes helped give the performance a little bit of production while also not taking away from the main focus Kelly wanted, which was the performance itself. The goal of the performance was to have people be impressed by Kelly’s vocal talent and power as “Bite” is one her more demanding songs as a vocalist. Flying through the belts with ease, she supported her fifth octave notes well. While her breath support was more shallow than usual due to the cold, her notes still were properly sustained. At the end of the performance, the audience went wild. The host Ryan Seacrest applauded Kelly as well and talked about what a wonderful artist and vocalist she is. He then encouraged everyone to go out and get “Bite” as well as her new album, ANALOG.

So seeing as season 8 will be starting soon, I have a suggestion that you might like. Usually, we have a big thread which houses the articles, general discussion, charts etc. So what if, we had separate threads for the EOTW charts, chart updates and the articles. Idk it's just a cute idea I had.

Yeah, we've done this before and it made the game feel dead. It's a nice idea and I know that it would look better but I feel that everything on the same thread is fine since we don't miss a thing.
