Even when Madonna dies she won't get a higher chart position on any chart than AIWFCIY last year (like 20 years after it's release nonetheless)

that's because Mariah is a global legend who is remembered and loved by every demographic across the world while Madonna's legacy is a gay myth

Exactly. Celine, Whitney, and Britney all also had a bigger peak than Madonna too.

Britney's peak was iconic, Madonna can't relate to that level of fame

madonna has more consistent success than whitney, britney, celine... but their peaks were all bigger than hers. but tbh rihanna trumps madonna in consistent success now, #1's, soon to be top 10's... soon to be record sales (she is already more certified than her, and we all know how much people in the 80's were over certified by their labels and greedy old pensioners like madonna) so really what does she have other than her adult nappies?

Mariah. Even before I stanned for her in the 90s, she had that long domination that seemed never-ending.

Exactly, anyone with even a few functioning brain cells can see that Mariah had the bigger peak

Even though Mariah had a steady, unaffected success throughout the decade of the 90s, I feel Madonna was absolutely massive between 1984 – 1991. She was a phenomenon. I think her peak was just a bigger cultural impact.
