Is xtina really the voice of her generation?

Recommended Posts

Everyone knows that Xtinca has received a lot of acclaim of her voice whether it’s good press or bad press people talk about her vocals however do you guys really consider her to be the voice her generation. Yes she does have some great performances however she’s really a hit or miss and the tired runs and screaming that her yellafer Hudson do just irritates the hell out of me. How can her fans even say she’s the voice of her generation when Beyoncé exists. She’s way more consistent with her vocals, she’s more pleasant to listen too, and she doesn’t butcher most of her performances like xtinca? bey1

Thank you for saying it, I don't really think she is the voice of our generation.

I'm not here for screaming singers.

Mariah, Celine, and even freaking JoJo outsang Xtina in the 2000's

beyonce is without a doubt the better technical singer by miles, and probably the best in modern pop

but xtina's voice/tone is arguably more influential since more girls try to imitate her growls and throaty/raspy sound. but it's that same sound that gets her into trouble in the long run oprah14

soooo depending what you think constitutes as the "voice of our generation" oprah14

Vocally she was for the teen pop generation. But the voice of a generation stems more than music. She was an outspoken advocate for women and gays plus her charity work with the wfp etc. She did so much so yeah

She wasn’t better than Mariah before her voice deteriorated the only other person who was giving Mariah a run for her money was Whitney.

Yeah, I think she is. She does have a bad technique but technique can't give you the soulful voice she has.

Beyoncé has the technique, but Xtina's voice is much more unique.
