As if this album wasn't bad enough, she put FUCKING Back That Up on the deluxe edition as bonus track. The worst song from the RH sessions lmao. She had Never Let You Go and Nothing Lasts Forever waiting there and she decided to add this dumb-ass song. She's a clown, literally.

I don't know how to feel about this song. I like the begining with the piano, and I even like the second, experimental part with her speaking. But wtf is that sudden switch-back to the original piano melody for 10 seconds and the random blowing at the end? carla1

I feel like this song should have been 2 separate tracks. Also, the excessive autotune on literally all the Madame X songs so far is really annoying. It adds nothing to the songs.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels overall disconnected with this era. I just haven't LOVED anything I've heard. For me, this is easily shaping up to be her worst album. I really enjoyed MDNA, and Rebel Heart had some of her best songs in YEARS, however the whole era was a mess and she ruined some of the best songs by altering them too much after the leaks. I forgave Madge that time... But not this time, I'm just let down. And what makes me more furious is her ticket prices. Fans like me just CANNOT afford to pay that much for concert tickets. I would much rather take a vacation somewhere nice for that much money. I find it inexcusable... She tries to connect with and defend oppressed classes yet she sets her concert ticket prices SO high... Is she even really trying to reach everyday people in the LGBTQ communities with those ticket prices?

Maybe I expected too much. But Madonna has always been for me the top when it comes to pop music ... When I don't like something she puts out, something is definitely wrong.

The cinematic clip stars Mykki Blanco, who portrays Joan of Arc.

In the visually arresting Emmanuel Adjei-directed video, Mykki Blanco is seen bravely facing adversity from various religious figures and onlookers and dancing despite the impending, inescapable doom to come.

Madonna shares powerful 'Dark Ballet' video starring Mykki Blanco as Joan of Arc.

Madonna has released a stunning video for “Dark Ballet”, the fifth and final single from her forthcoming album Madame X.

The clip closes with a powerful spoken-word segment from Blanco: “I have walked this earth, Black, Queer and HIV positive, but no transgression against me has been as powerful as the hope I hold within.”

Madonna's new video for "Dark Ballet" is as bold and artistic as they come. We're shown the haunting burning from multiple angles, the last finding Blanco's Joan smiling. The video is powerful.

In the stark, religiously-charged visual, directed by Emmanuel Adjei, Mykki Blanco plays Joan of Arc.

The video see Mykki square off with religious figures in church settings, dancing and interpreting Madonna’s stark, reflective lyrics before the inevitable burning at the stake. Madge appears underneath a black veil, contemplative.

“Dark Ballet” is Madonna’s most experimental single yet.

And yet, they still don’t portend the demented grandeur of “Dark Ballet.” Co-produced with Mirwais, the song that was first performed as “Beautiful Game” at the 2018 Met Gala is a sprawling indictment of modern society.

It’s time to accept that the Queen of Pop’s days of chasing hits are over. She’s now doing whatever the **** she wants and it sounds amazing.

Madonna’s latest music video — for a song called “Dark Ballet” — evokes religious images and symbols reminiscent of her controversial music videos from the 80s and 90s.

The intense new music video the artist released is for a single off her upcoming album, “Madame X.”

"Dark Ballet" is fresh proof that Madonna has never been afraid to push the limits

Wait I really love this? bebe1

The piano sounds so mysterious and the piano part before the bridge is gorgeous. The bridge is messy, very messy but so messy that it's.. idk perfect?

This could work so so so well as an intro with stunning visuals for the tour, beautiful introduction to the album! cry7

This is the only song I've liked so far. cheer1

We need to catch up soon and discuss these! I’m very fond of Medellín and I like the others too but this one is the first one that on first listen I FREAKED OUT and was shooketh. When that piano part starts I-   Big balls Madge ha comeback gaycat1 The opening and closing sections feel sparse by comparison, but the more I listen the more I appreciate how impulsively it switches gears. It’s almost like that opening act becomes insufficient in the moment and the song forces a ruptural shift to that amazing middle section.

I actually really like how it breaks in the middle and starts with another completely different melody and her robotic voice doesn't sound annoying as it does with the heavy autotune in most of the songs from the era. The song makes me feel like I'm in some sort of oneiric world.

I agree. The autotune in this track feels 100000% warranted and actually contributes to the song.
