No, I actually haven't seen it, I do want to though. Did you watch it recently?

Watched it for the first time years ago and it’s honestly... one of my favorite films period. The story and the characters are just great. Bette Davis was robbed of her Oscar. I definitely recommend!

I was wondering who won that year, apparently it was Judy Holliday for Born Yesterday, which I also have not seen rip2 At least All About Eve bagged a record amount of nominations (tied with Titantic and...La La Land jj2) and won 6 though.

People think it was because the other actress was submitted for Best instead of Supporting (both were great tbh!) Bette was definitely the star of the movie, but both deserved. I think they both would have won Actress/Supporting Actress if they were in those categories.

That record makes me cry... La La Land being the only one to have 14 noms and not win Best Picture... I don't wanna talk about it jodie2

To this day this confuses the shit out of me. I'm not going to at all say Moonlight didn't deserve to be recognized as it's such an amazing film....BUT the fact that they gave La La Land all that they did and leaned so heavily into the idea it could be winning the big prize only to rug pull at the end didn't sit right and combined with the presenter mistake it just added insult to injury. That whole ceremony kind of just negated both films in pop culture in my opinion because they're gonna be remembered by general audiences now more for the mistake than the fact they're brilliant movies.

Yes. Even the cheesiness of the two latter 90s films far outweigh the over-produced 00s/10s.

It's not about the production only, Batman is a comic character and when i watch a Batman movie i wanna have fun. There's nothing interesting in Batman movies since the 2000s, they're like, idk, crime movies with someone dressed as a bat. orangu1

It has become about the production value, honestly. The companies are more into the production than the story they're telling. I hope The Batman changes the narrative.

I doubt it highly. The three comics that Matt Reeves have taken inspiration from are three of the darkest, most noir Batman stories ever printed. It may not place an emphasis on the production value alone, but it's certainly not gonna be campy and bright hahah
