X1 disbands

why are they disbanding and izone isn't?

X1 hadn’t signed their contract yet while IZONE has so it was the easiest and cheapest solution for them to go with. Also IZONE’s Japanese contracts make their situation even more difficult. I guess both groups went with whatever would be easiest and cheapest to deal with.

Same. Plus, the title has me questioning: is there such thing as an unofficial disbanding? ari7

Well sometimes rumors and things like that happen so it’s never official until the company or label confirms it.

Then that would just be "X1 Disbands," or something. If it were a rumour and/or unconfirmed, surely that would be added to the title.

I mean i have no clue who they are, but it's clear a band with more members than there are lines in a song is not gonna last long. As much as it annoys me to keep saying it they appear to be yet another attempt at a manufactured Kpop group where the record exes take all the money and the members are their puppets. This is the sole reason i struggle to get in to KPop music, it's too fake.

The number of members have nothing to do with their disbandment. It was due to the rigging and manipulation that occurred on the show that put them together, their lack of a contract, and the fact that they only had one release out.

Not sure why you’re here if you don’t like the industry? Pretty hypocritical as well seeing as how the west sees very very similar manufactured, fake, etc etc allegations all the time. Britney and her legal drama, Mariah being controlled and blackballed by Tommy, Kesha with Luke, Fifth Harmony members literally calling themselves slaves, One Direction being forced to come together to be a cookie cutter boy band, yearly celebrities face drug addiction and depression due to the industry, but y’all only find it an issue with kpop after watching a few “dark side of kpop” videos on YouTube. Kpop industry definitely has its issues but this forum acting holier than thou will always be corny, especially when y’all are suddenly entering our little section with it now.

really not the case! their disbandment has nothing to do with the amount of members nor the group itself. they were formed by a reality show that recently got exposed for rigging members into the group and being shady in general, it's been months of rumors but they really had no future bc of this whole thing. nothing to do with anything you're saying juicy1

I wasn't saying that's why they broke up, I had a look in to it and understand the situation. It was more just a generalisation. Even of the shady business wasn't going on they wouldn't have lasted long.

Can we like have this post put as a disclaimer at the top of every thread that gets made in this section? Cause I feel like it's gonna get pretty tiring to have certain individuals enter this section to share their stale ass, utterly uninformed assumptions about a music market they clearly want nothing to do with.

OT: Only superficially aware of who they are (I'm not really into those Produce show groups) but I feel for their fans.
