20. Florence and the Machine - Ceremonials (2011)

220px-Ceremonials.png

Just like on the debut, Kate Bush influence is very obvious on this brilliant album. Ceremonials is an art rock album whose songs have elements of baroque pop, neo soul and indie pop. The music is melodic and powerful, while Florence's emphatic singing reminds of Kate Bush.

Highlights: What the Water Gave Me, Only if for a Night, Spectrum.

juicy1 Lower than How Bland, How Beige, How Bashful?

02. Shura - Nothing's Real (2016)

220px-Shura_-_Nothing's_Real.png

Shura deserved to be a superstar. If this album was released in the 80s or the 90s, Shura would have been idolized and her posters would have been in every room of every teen who would have related to her music. Instead of that, a cool artist like Shura was ignored, while teens smoked basic shit.

This album is amazing and has everything. The lyrics, the production, melodies... A brilliant synthpop album with 80s elements.

Highlights: Nothing's Real, Tongue Tied, Make It Up.

I haven't liked any of her releases since King of the Mountain (single only)

Director's Cut was the worst thing she's ever done btw

Shocked. eve1 I am not a kind of person who likes everything what a fave serves, but Kate Bush has never disappointed me. 200px-Patricia_Richardson_as_Jill_Taylor

That downvote for brilliant Director's Cunt. Fix it! 340?cb=20160306151603

I might consider fixing it if you swap Seretonials with How Boring x3 200px-Patricia_Richardson_as_Jill_TaylorAlso if you can tell me who the hell that woman is 200px-Patricia_Richardson_as_Jill_Taylor

Kate Bush disappoints me with about half of her discography. The Ninth Wave is indulgent yet stultifying. Most of her first three albums are unlistenable filler. The Red Shoes was a mess. Aerial was overlong and underwhelming. 50 Shades of No and Director's Slut just about ate up the rest of my stan card 200px-Patricia_Richardson_as_Jill_Taylor

27. Pompeya - Dreamers (2018)

Kna28d6.jpg

Pompeya is a Russian band whose music is a mix of pop, indie rock and nu-disco, inspired by the 70s, the 80s and the 90s. Their sound is breezy, bright and fun.

Dreamers could be their best album. The album is inspired by the 80s (rock, new wave, syntpop, dreampop, hip hop, pop). The rock elements evoke Duran Duran, while the catchy melodies evoke the 80s pop hits. The subtle synthpop and dreampop elements add a nice touch and create an airy, dreamy vibe.

The album sounds like a good collection of hit songs of the past.

Highlights: Nothing Is Coming Back, Hot Summer + July, Wondering.

Listening to Hot Summer+July and wig how 80s, but not in the typical synth way. Could be Tears For Fears, or INXS Nikki-Avi-2.gif.cbaca9fdc9b56df396bb0f2e2b2ab970.gif

I listened to NICM alex1 It was cute too. None of the three songs you recommended before have stuck in my head but I will give them another spin sometime.

Head Over Heels by the way kylie6 THAt

17. Goldfrapp - Head First (2010)

220px-Goldfrapp_-_Head_First.png

Goldfrapp's closest album to pop music. It reminds of Black Cherry and Supernature, but it has warmer sound and melodies are much catchier. A snythpop album inspired by the 80s.

Highlights: Rocket, Hunt, Voicething.

I disliked this back in February but now I have to concede that the title track really BOPS bey7
