Hi, everyone! Welcome to my thread of 50 favorite albums of the 2010s. alex1

So far, I have been doing these rankings in my blog and some have been done in Music section in the past.

This ranking will become a part of the blog later, but first, I want to make it here, so you could participate too. I am interested in your thoughts. jj2

It wasn't easy to make a list. Some albums have been omitted.

Anyway, expect some guilty pleasures and a lot of taste. nat2

50. Roxette - Good Karma (2016)

220px-Roxette_-_Good_Karma.jpg

The final album by pop rock duo Roxette. It is classic Roxette with a modern touch. A lot of bops. One of their better works.

Highlights: Why Dontcha?, Good Karma, You Can't Do This to Me Anymore.

49. Tori Amos - Unrepentant Geraldines (2014)

220px-UnrepentantGeraldines.jpg

Tori Amos always surprises me, because she always manages to deliver interesting melodies, while never ditching her signature sound. I like the fact this album was inspired by visual artists such as Paul Cézanne and Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

Highlights: America, Wedding Day, Weatherman.

48. Hurts - Surrender (2015)

220px-Surrender_cover.png

The third Hurts album was a return to more accessible sound after Exile. Maybe, too much accessible. Hurts are known for dark-ish electropop that was present on their debut. On Exile, they went further and mixed electropop with industrial rock, creating a different sound, even darker, but still very Hurts.

Surrender is a mix of electropop and trendy dance elements. A light album with a lot of bops and some great moments.

I still don't understand why these guys aren't popular on this forum. They make music that many of your favorite female artists would do. Instead, people seem to ignore them and go for more basic male artists.

Highlights: Perfect Timing, Lights, Some Kind of Heaven.

47. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection (2012)

A cute pop album with a lot of bops.

Highlights: Last Friday Night, Wide Awake, Part of Me.

46. Christina Aguilera - Bionic (2010)

220px-Christina_Aguilera_-_Bionic_(album

This album deserved more. I can't at Christina for not promoting it well and not choosing better singles. Not Myself Tonight was a good start and the cover still slays.

With this album Christina continued with reinvention. Electropop really suited Xtina well and working with Le Tigre and Peaches was a good decision. Maybe there were too many songs, something that many artists will start to do, but Bionic was a fine piece of pop music.

Highlights: Not Myself Tonight, Elastic Love, Vanity.

45. Chairlift - Something (2012)

220px-Something_cover.jpg

It sucks that this band decided to break up. Caroline's emphatic and unique voice and polished dreamy production are pretty much the signature of their music, that set them apart from other synthpop/art pop/indie artists and acts.

Something represents their best work that features many creative songs, but also some accessible bops too. Amanaemonesia sounds like Kate Bush going synthpop, while Met Before is an 80's inspired bop that deserved to be a hit.

Highlights: Amanaemonesia, Ghost Tonight, Met Before.

44. Lady Gaga - Artpop (2013)

220px-Artpop_cover.png

OK, Artpop might not be one of Gaga's finest works, but it is my favorite Gaga album. We all could focus on its flaws like badly executed concept and cringe worthy lyrics on some songs, but this album pretty much serves a bop after a bop. Something that isn't easy to achieve and deserves appreciation. The album is a mix of retro and modern sounds focused on themes such as love, sex, fame and fashion. The songs are fun, but also creative and different from typical pop stuff served on daily basis.

Highlights: Venus, Sexxx Dreams, Mary Jane Holland.

43. Janet Jackson - Unbreakable (2015)

So many good songs on this album. Probably one of Janet's best works. Certain singles deserved to be hits.

Highlights: Dammn Baby, No Sleeep, Lessons Learned.
