Fix the album - Back to Basics edition

Recommended Posts

It is a widespread view that B2B is long and has some filler (despite the filler being talent personified) so I challenge you to trim down the 22 tracks into 12 ny1

You can play with the order of the tracks too if you so wish (but you gotta tell us why xtina1

2- Makes Me Wanna Pray

3-Back in the Day

4- Ain't No Other Man

5-Understand

6-Slow Down Baby

7-Oh Mother

8-FUSS

9-On Our Way

10-Without You

11-Still Dirrty

12-Here to Stay

13- Thank You (dedication to my fans)

Noticeably absent, the right man and mercy on me... I love them and vocally they are amazing but they could really have been on a bonus disc in a circus themed ep

Album does not need to be fixed, but, if they had to one-disc the project, I would suggest using the sampler and expanding it a little be.

  1. Intro (Back to Basics)
  2. Makes Me Wanna Pray
  3. Back in the Day
  4. Ain't No Other Man
  5. Understand
  6. Slow Down Baby
  7. Without You
  8. Still Dirrty
  9. I Got Trouble

Or, you can use the in-store play sampler:

  1. Intro (Back to Basics)
  2. Makes Me Wanna Pray
  3. Back in the Day
  4. Ain't No Other Man
  5. Understand
  6. Slow Down Baby

Ooooh okay I like this lemme give it a go

1. Enter the Circus
2. Welcome
3. Ain't No Other Man
4. Slow Down Baby
5. Back in the Day
6. Candyman
7. Nasty Naughty Boy
8. I Got Trouble
9. Hurt
10. Mercy on Me
11. Oh Mother
12. Save Me From Myself

The reason I chose this ordering is I believe it creates a solid structure to the record. While this is by far my favorite Xtina album, the way the album's built is kind of awkward. With the official track list, we swing from to incredibly upbeat and wild to slinky and sexy to emotional and vulnerable with no warning and it gives the album a bit of a roller coaster kind of feel. With this track list I've done, we start grandiose and slowly work our way into the more toned down stuff in the middle, and we end on the songs that are incredibly emotionally resonant, giving the album a defined beginning, middle, and end with a thematic structure that makes sense.

Track-list 2 there - Replace Mercy on me with save me from myself, and add Here to Stay (Pepsi advert mix), Nasty (the Burlesque outtake track), I got Trouble and Nasty Naughty Boy and I would be happy with that.
