This whole thing stemmed from Lorde's interview about her new record and when I first read Lorde's news and use of "f*#cking" and Jack Antonoff, I knew she was once again fucking with Lana and thought Lana might react, but not at the level of which she did. The whole setting women back 100 years, her lyrics not being healthy for young girls, glamorizing abusive relationships, etc. This was never about Beyonce and company, all triggered by Lorde.

 

Lana owns her lane, easily the best songwriter in the game currently, and should just be happy she has gained respect and become what she's become. She hardly does press, promotion, etc. (while all the others do). I mean Bob Grant (papa Del Rey) went after Lorde on Twitter a few years ago. "Fucked my Way Up To The Top" was written about Lorde. She just doesn't help herself with posts like this and plays directly into the "rich entitled, doom and gloom caricature" the press has labeled her. Stream of conciseness at 2am should be left in draft form.

I'm tired of reading people saying she should hire a PR specialist or apologize. I like Lana because what you see is what you get (at least apparently) and I don't think people should apologize for others deliverate misconstruction of her words.
