Darling there are a lot of good performances to prove she can still sing. And 15 seconnds are enough to show if somebody can still sing or not.

No lol 15 seconds is in no way indicative of whether or not a show is gonna be good. And those clips are not even that good

I am devastated. I was completely wrong. She sounds so strong in these stellar performances. She raised the bar too high for everyone else, thanks for making me see the @light741

Ever heard of diaphragmatic support and actual resonance that has a ringing quality and vibrato?

Celine Dion could never do clear upper belts like this in her entire career. All she could do was using mixed voice to access her upper belts, not raising her soft palate, giving a yodel

The nasal cavity is the biggest resonator of the voice. That's literally where the sound blooms, not the throat :rip:. Barbra Streisand uses lot of nasal resonance, has literally the best vocal technique and can still sing flawlessly at age 80. Mariah hasn't had this stamina since she was 26.

The way Mariah at 50 would never DARE sing a LIVE duet with Ariana and Barbra did it at age 79 and had more resonance than Ariana.

The way you bring this song that was recorded line by line as a receipt :rip: There's nothing wrong with a mixed voice btw, don't know why you think so

Literally every singer mixes to access higher belts, Celine has a more heady mix (like Ariana) but there's nothing wrong with that, Mariah mixes too, it's how they managed to get that rounded sound. If anything a head mix is healthier than a chest dominated mix (Xtina, Demi).

Xtina and Demi is more like throat dominated mix, tho.

This song has textbook example of clear, resonant belts with vibrato, hence it can testify the test of quality brit7 You won't find that in Celine's discography. Belts are NOT supposed to be head notes or falsettos. It's ok to prefer them, but branding them as the right way is misleading to casual listeners alex1 Sure they can be considered safe, or cheating or whatever. But you won't be considered better or even good by experts who see it.

Girl what? Who said belting is the best way to sing? It used to be considered the standard cuz there were no mics back in the day, but it has changed lmao. And Mariah's chest voice and vibrato would be considered weak compared to the vocal standards from back in the day.

Mariah takes 100 takes of one belted words, then does the next etc. It sounds a mess when put together, anyone trying to sing along to her can tell it's not natural. You can't flip to thin falsetto then be chesty with no breath in between. Celine mixes with some head voice to remain consistent. Same for Beyonce or Barbra or any vocalist who thinks about how they need to make their songs realistic live. How you place your real breath, not how you can use countless takes to create an illusion that you have a bigger breath capacity than you do lol That's why everyone is so surprised at how breathless Mairah sounds live lol  Watch these. Barbra masters everything better than Mariah. 11:30 "being a melismatic singer does not grant any singer supremacy" btw lol Mariah only uses that to conceal her flaws. The best technician would never use such breathy techniques to that extreme.

The way Mariah sings is not a mess or weak just because you don't like it. Mariah has proven countless times that she has great musicianship. Showing great inflections. Knowing how to play with the meter, whether that’s behind in or in front. Rhythmic intuition and melodic phrasing that can handle very complex vocal lines. Hearing the spaces between intervals. Choosing the most effective embellishments/ articulations. Extrapolating and resolving melodic statements. Being able to float above a pop melody, settle into a hip-hop groove, as well as turning around and give jazz interpretations of a standard with authenticity of those who came before her. Always singing in service of the song rather than herself.

such a reach lol So many things she does don't even fit with the music, like those horrible whiny whistle notes in A No No music video.  Songs like Heavenly and Save the Day are saturated with unnecessary annoying layers that just makes the listener dizzy.

That's your opinion.
