Songs Hated by the Fanbase That You Actually Enjoy?

Recommended Posts

So we all know the songs in M's catalogue that the majority of the fanbase absolutely despise. However, there's always going to be a fraction of people who enjoy even the most hated of songs. What song do you actually enjoy that is generally hated or at least seen as a lower tier offering?

For me, it's MDNA's "Some Girls". I've loved the song from day one and i was absolutely gutted that it wasn't on the tour. The song is to me the idea of the album done right. It's tongue in cheek without being as cheesy as Give Me All Your Luvin or Turn Up the Radio, the production is chaotic but it feels like it's intentional rather than just an accident, and it's a real adrenaline rush of a song. And low-key "pit your fucking porn star heels on" is one of my favorite lines she's dropped in any song.

Hard Candy oprah14

Her truly ahead of its times album bebe1

Agreed. Hard Candy is amazing and is full of Bops.

Candy Shop, 4 Minutes, Heartbeat, Miles Away, Beat Goes On, Spanish Leason, The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You, Voices, Dance 2Night and Voices all slay.

The unreleased tracks (Ring My Bell, Infinity, Animal, Across The Sky, Latte, Beat Is So Crazy) are also great

Overall her 80s filler tracks are cute and don't deserve hate.

Dear Jessie was and still is extremely different for her and while it may be a bit over the top it's a genuinely nice song.

I'm convinced anyone who genuinely hates Love Song just has no taste.

Don't Stop is cute and BS needed a lil uptempo for variety.

I'm So Stupid and Mother and Father were great experiments that I genuinely love. Her vocal effects might not be for everyone but I was always hoping she would do more with them, it's why I'm so happy with MX tbh.

I Love New York is dumb lyrically but the soundscape on COADF is so good I still enjoy listening to it.

HC I'm not gonna get started on and I don't need to because everyone knows it's underrated and overhated by her fanbase.

And for MDNA as much as I shit on the album, for every bad song there's a decent song there.

I used to hate Love Song and now im loving it bebe1

As for MDNE i think its good pop album but not good enough for someone as M, she could have done it better with more time but still im enjoying it a lot and GGW is one of her biggest bangers that should be a hit shrug1

i’ll never understand the hate hard candy gets , it’s better than every album she released in the 2010s

Except, Rebel Heart maybe.

The problem with HC is that it lacks a concept. It was the first time since 1995 that she was blatantly chasing a trend. The songs aren’t bad but also not particularly deep. I enjoy a good bunch of them but I see why certain people hate this album.

The way I see it, at least HC's trend circles back to the type of music she's known to make. It comes off as her doing it for fun, instead of damage control like BS.

Still wonder what we would've gotten if she worked with the Pet Shop Boys instead.
