Rita Ora facing ANOTHER backlash after traveling to Australia

Rita Ora is facing criticism ONCE AGAIN after travelling to Australia for her role as a coach on The Voice.

Under current COVID-19 restrictions in the UK, travelling abroad is banned without a legally permitted reason. It is not clear whether Ora had sought permission before flying, although her trip is for work and not leisure, which is banned. The trip has come under fire from Australia's opposition home affairs spokeswoman, who said the singer and TV star had been prioritised over tens of thousands of the country's citizens currently stranded overseas due to a weekly cap on arrivals.

Sydney Morning Herald journalist Bevan Shields tweeted: "So pop singer Rita Ora has been granted an exemption from Australia's border closure and is now taking up scarce hotel quarantine spaces in Sydney. This would be the same Rita Ora who held an illegal birthday party at a London restaurant in late November."

And another Twitter user said: "Dear Australia, if you want @RitaOra that much then you can have her. Consider it a gift. Love, The United Kingdom."

Rita was also intercepted by armed police at the airport before being forced to quarantine

Rita Ora has flown into Australia to be a judge on the TV show ‘The Voice’, but as soon as she arrived she was intercepted by armed police who escorted her from Sydney Airport who whisked her off in a minibus drove her to a hotel and told her to quarantine there for 14 days.

Rita Ora’s work trip had been officially approved by the UK Government, and a source close to Ms Ora said, “Rita travelled first class, with all the trimmings of private lounges and VIP suites. But there was nothing she could do to avoid having to properly quarantine. It’s very clear how seriously the Australians are taking their border control, and there are no risks taken at all. They have no time for rule-breakers. Border agents and the military are involved, and she had to comply. But she’s desperate to just keep her head down and get on with things now if possible, and certainly doesn’t want any more trouble over the rules”.

The Australian government is also currently facing criticism for allowing Ora into the country while 40,000 natives remain stranded overseas.
