What Is QAnon? The Conspiracy Theory So Whacky The FBI Has Declared It A Domestic Terror Threat | HuffPost UK

Once upon a time, the President of the United States, or the incoming President-elect of the United States was inaugurated on March 4th. Prior to 1933, that was the predominate date, and it wasn't until the 22nd Amendment in 1951 when the date of January 20th was established as the legally dictated date when the new President assumed the powers of the Presidency.

To those of us living in reality, President Joe Biden assumed office on January 20th at noon. For a select few individuals, whose residency on Planet QAnon hasn't expired, the date of March 4th has spread as the date of the "true" Presidential inauguration. Though some QAnon believers think that any incidents on March 4th will be used as "traps" by the Main Stream Media and the Deep State to arrest MAGA/QAnon crazy people. Regardless, the security grid established in Washington following the deadly Trump-inspired insurrection on January 6th will tightened in the event of any violence.

Authorities will be on high alert Thursday over a QAnon conspiracy theory prediction, but according to experts, chances of violence appear minimal compared to the deadly insurrection on Jan. 6.

Some segments of the convoluted theory’s community have been claiming for months that former President Trump will return to the White House on March 4, which was the date of presidential inaugurations up until 1933.

While belief that Thursday would mark the triumphant return of QAnon’s figurehead had been building, some influential figures in the community have recently turned back on that prediction.

Influencers backing down from the “real inauguration” theory is especially important, since they have gained more sway in the community after the shadowy “Q” figure stopped posting on image boards in December.

A memo from the top security official overseeing the House shared with lawmakers this week echoes that the significance of March 4 has “reportedly declined amongst various groups in recent days.”

Capitol Police at this time "has no indication that groups will travel to Washington D.C. to protest or commit acts of violence,” acting Sergeant-at-Arms Timothy Blodgett said in the memo.

Authorities are exercising caution regardless given that QAnon supporters were involved in the Jan. 6 riot and the theory has been deemed a national security threat by the FBI.

Capitol Police will have additional personnel deployed around the Capitol Thursday, according to Blodgett’s memo, and the National Guard will continue supporting local officers.

The cooling interest hasn’t stopped the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., from jacking up prices around March 4, a tactic also employed around the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. Several g predictions without too much attrition, another failed prediction could push more believers away from the theory.

QAnon followers had built up Jan. 20 as the day of the “Great Awakening,” where Trump would remain in office and arrest top Democrats for their alleged complicity in child sex trafficking rings.

While many supporters shared dissatisfaction with the failed prediction, others quickly moved on to the next date.

I mean…. I know it's crazy, but I can understand why some of these people hold onto the belief that there was voter fraud. (No evidence, I'm just saying I can see how they can justify that for themselves). But this continued desperate, dystopian idea that the power grid was going to shut down on Jan 20th or that Trump will be sworn in on Mar 4th is like… So wild. Where. Where's the material. There is none.

At the end of the day it's a cult, evidence to the contrary only causes them to dig in their heels. There is no saving them, there is only defeating them.
