Which songstress released the best (or worst bebe1) version of The Power of Love?

Jennifer Rush co-wrote and released the original version in 1984 for her self-titled debut album. The song was a hit across the globe and became the best selling single of 1985 in the U.K. Sadly, the song flopped in the U.S. where it peaked at #57.

Laura Branigan covered the song in 1987 for her album "Touch". Her version outcharted Jennifer's original in the U.S., peaking at #26.

Covers Dion released her version in 1993 which became a worldwide hit and was the only version of the song to hit #1 in the U.S.

So, which version is best? jj2 Be honest girls!

Celine

There's a reason why the other two flopped in the US. bey11 They sound like karaoke covers when compared to Celine's version.

Are you sure we're talking about the same version? bey11

Celine. Her version is absolutely transcendent and there’s a reason why her version was so massive then and the only remembered version of it now.

It was a hit because it had a more commercial feel in comparison to the original. Plus,  having a few top 10 singles before that helped.

I don't know how much this song is remembered, but I have  encountered only Jennifer's version on TV.  eve1
