Eurovision: Belarus to be suspended from future Contests

what happen

Basically Belarus was already disqualified to enter this year's contest with their song because the committee came to the conclusion that the entry song was not going with the contest's guidelines of no-political material in song or performance. They even got a second chance and were handed the opportunity to change their song - which they did. However, the second song was vetoed for the same reasons as the first one: it pretty much mocked the ongoing protests in the country.

Now as for the general suspension: The situation in the country is very alarming. Since the elections last year it's pretty much been a shitshow of a regime. Journalists have been openly protesting, others gave interviews where they seemed to be forced to answer questions regime friendly. It's honestly a whole mess. In short: The country and its ruling right now do not conform the imposed rules by Eurovision.

Yet they still let Israel compete? gag1 what a joke. I guess that sponsorships money is too precious to bend their beliefs and values.

They let Turkey compete too (Although Turkey currently boycotts Eurovision).

But I guess it's totally okay to invade another country and still occupy that country to this day (Cyprus).
