McDonald's 'BTS Meal' is so popular it caused chaos, restaurants trashed

Several McDonald’s outlets in Indonesia were forced to close this week after a special “BTS Meal,” named for the wildly popular Korean boy band, drew crowds of delivery drivers that violated safe distancing measures, the police said.

The BTS Meal had officially launched in the Southeast Asian country yesterday (June 9), and over 3 0 McDonald's outlets in Jakarta and several other cities were overwhelmed with food-delivery drivers who were waiting to pick up orders, AFP reported (via The Jakarta Post). Fears over another potential virus-spreading event caused authorities to intervene. These outlets were slapped with a 24-hour closure sticker to disperse drivers, who were unable to properly social distance due to the crowd size. CNN Indonesia also reported that any outlets defying the temporary restriction order would be fined.

Indonesia, which has one of the highest coronavirus caseloads in Asia, has seen a surge of infections in recent weeks as more people gathered and traveled during Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. New daily cases have risen 26 percent over the last two weeks, and only 4 percent of the population is fully vaccinated, according to a New York Times database.

The BTS Meal has also caused safety concerns in Malaysia, where it was launched on May 26. A Malaysian government official had the called long queues at local McDonald’s outlets “dangerous” and “embarrassing” as the country and its medical frontliners battle record numbers of coronavirus cases.

Good, i had no interest in buying it, i was just curious as if it was sold here i'd have expected to have seen marketing for it. 

I doubt BTS has much if any stans in Scotland.

Well if you're ever curious about it, it's literally just fries, nuggets and a drink
So get yourself that and you've got yourself a BTS meal


The only difference is there's the BTS logo on the packaging, and you get some dipping sauce:

I actually ordered a McNugget Meal too. 

Although we only get 6 or 9 nuggets here and the fries/drinks are smaller.

Well you do get 10 nuggets for the BTS meal so that's that I guess


Although, I never got the hype for McDonald's nuggets
They're just.. okay to me? But people hype them up so much for whatever reason
I pretty much never buy them, when I do go to a McD it's for the fries

Totally, Burger King have far better burgers too, but McDonald's fries are amazing.

And I have been wanting McDonald's fries for days now, but I can't get them because of the fucking BTS stans clogging the queue up

This is why i almost always get a Deliveroo. Literally straight to my door in like 15 minutes.
