There is a point to be made about pop stars using rap music and rappers to give themselves a "edge" but the Dua and DaBaby incident isn't one of them. DaBaby got dropped cause he's a dumbass that said stupid shit.

I mean, it’s true. Pop artists tend to collaborate with rappers who are big at the moment for extra clout and to reach a bigger/different audience.. but DaBaby is still trash.

EXCUSE ME 

"Levitating" still would've been a huge success without a rapper on it.

It was mainly because of her Grammy performance/win that the song started becoming big on radio and on the Hot 100 chart.

Dua was a fan of DaByeBye and wanted to work with him. That's all rih10

DaBaby's recent EP didn't make it past #40 on the Billboard 200. He has no clout to give. rip4 Dua did NOT need him for Levitating. That song was gonna smash no matter what

The part of the song that got viral was not his rap (which added absolutely NOTHING to the song).
