BTS announces hiatus

During BTS’ Festa dinner, which is part of an annual celebration of their founding, the group announced that they are going on hiatus. The group detailed tentative plans for solo projects and explained to fans that they need the time to take an extended break.

This year marks the group’s — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — ninth anniversary as a band. In the one-hour-long Festa video, the members reflect on their successful journey together before going on to discuss their plans to pursue solo work.

RM said while they’ve accomplished incredible feats as a band, the members still need to develop and mature as individual people and artists.

“I think we should spend some time apart to learn how to be one again,” added J-Hope. “I hope you don’t see this as a negative thing, and see it as a healthy plan. I think BTS will become stronger that way.”

Absolutely hate when groups go on hiatus. It just feels like ending it without really ending it you know. I really hope they get together again, but with all of them getting older I don’t really see it happening tbh. Their music has gotten worse and worse recently though, so if they’re actually going to get back together I hope this hiatus will do them good.

To focus on their solo projects. I have no idea why they would just release something and then go on hiatus after that

It’s an anthology album consisting of mostly old songs and 3 new songs. It was just to give fans something collect before going on hiatus I guess
