The Word "Renaissance" Has Caused A Spike In Google Searches

Recommended Posts

The English Renaissance was a cultural and artistic movement in England from the early 16th century to the early 17th century.[1] It is associated with the pan-European Renaissance that is usually regarded as beginning in Italy in the late 14th century. As in most of the rest of northern Europe, England saw little of these developments until more than a century later. Renaissance style and ideas, however, were slow to penetrate England, and the Elizabethan era in the second half of the 16th century is usually regarded as the height of the English Renaissance. However, many scholars see its beginnings in the early 16th century, during the reign of Henry VIII.[2]

Not English Renaissance. eve1

Anyway, it is a French word which means rebirth or revival.

During Renaissance Italian artists were inspired by antique arts, so there was a rebirth or a revival of Greek and Roman arts and philosophy.

In Beyonce's case it could be a rebirth of certain genres that she has or hasn't explored in the past.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was inspired by the Harlem Renaissance too.
