It has been almost 10 years, we can stop having this conversation. There is nothing new to be said. The original is gone as it should be. Artistic integrity is doing the right thing in the overall and that's what she did.

I believe justice was served, he is in prison now. But does that mean his art is completely wiped away? The man is extremely talented and grammy award winning. He shouldn't be celebrated, but his art is art which can not be destroyed.

She should’ve just released the solo version. 

But with regards to R Kelly, you can’t polish that man or anything he’s done — he likes to molest children, he is on tape, in multiple instances, in separate decades, doing it. He married a 15 year old at the age of 27, and considering he’d known said 15 year old since she was about 11 or 12, it’s likely he did more than just marry her. 

 

In any case, it’s done — the song is almost ten years old, let his work pile up in a heap where it belongs.
