Do people actually believe that any of Midnight’s frontloaded success was organic?

You can have as many versions of an album as you like but it won't matter unless people are willing to buy them. That is organic. People buying your album is organic. If they buy multiple copies, that is organic. It doesn't matter how much of the product there is if there isn't someone who's willing to purchase it.

This is how the industry works today. Most artists at this level are releasing different versions of their album. Taylor just knows how to do it in a way that yields bigger results.

It's hardly fake success though? Like I said above, someone's gotta want to stream and be willing to buy. Availability of different versions means nothing if someone isn't willing to buy those different versions. It's successful for her because she's got the biggest fanbase in music today, and one of the largest fanbases in music history. She knows that, she gives them what they want, and she finds her success while her stans are satisfied.

It isn't Taylor's fault that everyone else's faves leave them dissatisfied, wanting, and neglected.

Ikr, like I understand that excessive playlisting, excessive airplay or selling heavily discounted digital albums can inflate an album's success and seem fake. Fans buying $40 vinyls is the opposite of that lol3

Once again trying to write an essay in an attempt to twist the reality that what Taylor is doing is pure fraud.

I agree it's not organic but I still don't understand how this is fraud, it's not like she's scamming her fanbase or that. For example, an enterprise like Disney literally releases the same movies on DVD with extra content and other merch. Does that make them a fraud too?

You can’t compare that situation because Disney used to re-release the movies for their anniversaries. There were at least 10 years between them.

Taylor is releasing 73 bundles of the same album, many of which don’t have any variations between the tracklistings as well as .69 ct INSTRUMENTAL VERSIONS for NON-SINGLES to inflate the sales of her album.

She does this because she is literally chart-obsessed.

Really? She didn't even add bonus tracks or a DVD along with it?brit1 If not that's a bit basic of her, at least add something more

At least I can write my own arguments instead of using other people’s tweets.

Not surprised you need help though considering how your thesis went.

Midnights has the largest second-week total for any album since Adele’s 25 tallied 1.162 million units in is second frame (Dec. 19, 2015, chart). Plus, Midnights’ second-week sum is the third-largest overall week of the year for any album. In 2022, the three largest weeks are Midnights’ debut (1.578 million), the debut of Harry Styles’ Harry’s House (521,000) and Midnights’ second week (342,000). One more note about the size of Midnights’ second-week – it’s so big, it’s larger than the total units earned by the Nos. 2-7 albums on the latest chart combined.

Taylor stans are too sensitive. They’ll call you sexist if you aren’t willing to sell your soul to Taylucifer.

And you call her a fascist for not spearheading the global economic and environmental recovery effort.  brit16

Frontloaded success? ny1

Following the expectation-shattering blockbuster debut of her new album, “Midnights,” Taylor Swift has coasted to a second week atop the charts, earning the equivalent of another 342,000 album sales, according to the tracking service Luminate.

Although “Midnights” experienced a 78 percent drop in its second week of release — down from 1,578,000 in sales the week prior — Swift’s follow-up performance was still good enough for the third-largest total of the year so far, topping even the debut of Beyoncé’s “Renaissance.” (Other than “Midnights” last week, only Harry Styles’s “Harry’s House” sold more.)

Swift managed to move more than one million copies of “Midnights” in its first week largely on the strength of physical merchandise, including vinyl, CDs and even cassettes. But the album lingers at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week thanks to its consistency on streaming services, where it totaled 294 million plays (down from 549 million).

Combining digital plays, downloads and purchases of the complete album, the second-week sales of “Midnight” were the largest for any album in its second week since Adele’s “25” in 2015, Billboard said.

Swift also maintains a healthy standing on the singles chart, the Hot 100, where she had previously occupied all of the Top 10 — a first in the chart’s history. This week, the single “Anti-Hero” holds at No. 1, with Swift songs also landing at No. 6, 7 and 9.

Rihanna’s new single, “Lift Me Up,” a ballad from the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack, debuts at No. 2.

Doing very well into her second week. CRY ABOUT IT ny1
