FOTP's Song Contest S2: Winner Revealed (Pg.76)

Recommended Posts

Lucky Day: she could have kept that "mwah mwah mwah" out, but it sounds like a decent song! Nothing special, but it's alright, I like it! Her voice at the end is atrocious tho, that screaming wendy4

Body Heat: oh this sounds like something I would listen to on a regulare basis! I love this song. demi1 the guitars in the instrumental are amazing.
Hurts Like Hell: pop perfection! gaga13 I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG! cry0 this is amazing!

How Many Times: oh this sounds sassy bey12 I like this but it sounds kinda generic tbh! But the longer you listen to this song, it gets better. The chorus is amazing! bey5

More Than A Friend: maybe it's just the placing of the song that I don't like it, but this sounds like the previous songs and I'm getting a bit bored now wendy4
Crying At The Moon: I don't like this jj4 this is way too hard trying to be edgy & controversial and stuff....but it's not working meh. It kinda goes nowhere as well.
Jump The Gun: poor Adore has less then 75k listeners per month? I have to laugh ny2 anyone, this song is amazing, I fucking love it. This is what the previous song is trying to be home. Does Adore still release music?
Go: it's okay...I guess? Got nothing much more to say about this gaga12
Bills Bills Bills: I think this is the only cover on the list? This is such an experimental cover of an iconic song cry0 I love it!
teeth bared: The first minute being the same thing over and over again isn't gonna score much points btw jj2 it goes exactly nowhere and I absolutely see why this person has less then 75k listeners per month!
Jaded: I'm so done with this list wendy4 THIS IS A FUCKING NO FOR ME

Aimée - Hurt Like Hell - yes please

BIIANCO - teeth bared - i LOOVEEEEE vocal chopping  sad that it didnt go anywhere for me, think this would be better if Ellie Goulding sang it with more powerful vocals

Delilah - Go - nice vocals but the instrumental is so fucking boring and monotone through the whole thing smh

Goldie Boutilier - Body Heat - started promising, went nowhere interesting, not a fan of the vocals

Laura Davidson - More Than A Friend - more guitar please! i did not like the "high" notes at all tho

Nicola Roberts - Lucky Day: oh god, why do i lowkey remember this from back in the day? when i thought i was cool for listening to a more ~alternative~ pop girl.. i have to admit it was nice to hear it again after all these years, it's still catchy. i would have gone with Beat Of My Drum though, now THAT is a bop.

Goldie Boutilier - Body Heat: the intro had me thinking this would be a bop, boy was i fooled.

Aimée - Hurt Like Hell: it's okay, sounds like a typical basic song by a young pop girl. doesn't stand out, so i can see why she's stuck with under 75k listeners.

Molly Rainford - How Many Times: oh yes this is a lowkey bop. it kinda sounds like a throwback to the 00s.

Laura Davidson - More Than A Friend: idk, it's kinda giving the same as the Aimeé song for me. young girl making a basic pop song. i have to say this had a little more punch to it though!

Relya Voy - Crying At The Moon: kind of hate vocal effects, whatever that is. the roboticish voice ruins it, but the instrumental is nice. had potential.

Adore Delano - Jump The Gun: sounds like any other song by a drag queen artist i'm afraid. they're trying way hard too be edgy, just make a good song instead. lowkey hated that i wasted over 3 minutes of my life listenting to this, it sounded like same 5 seconds were on loop forever.

Delilah - Go: oh.. i've either heard this before or it reminds me a lot of something else. i like the instrumental, but the vocals not so much.. it's almost as if they don't match?

Masquer - Bills Bills Bills: i'll pay your bills if you make this song stop right NOW. the fucking weird and distorted instrumental dead2 HATE what they did with this song. it's also giving lazy going with a cover of such a well known song this round.

BIIANCO - teeth bared: being after the last song has it advantages, because anything would sound good. it's a little too repetitive for my liking though, especially when the repeated part is annoying. but not the worst song on the list.

Ms. White - Jaded: it's not that great. sounds like something they would play at H&M.. or to put me to sleep... but it's tolerable.

Going to start judging lyrical content too from this round cause many picks are just a catchy beat and nothing else.

Nicola Roberts - Lucky Day: Catchy, fun, enjoyable.
Goldie Boutilier - Body Heat:  One of the best picks for this round, i love everything about it. It's actually sad how low the streams are. tehe1
Aimée - Hurt Like Hell:  I could find 100 songs that sound like this, especially in Eurovision, but i'm not gonna be biased with my ranking. tehe1 I like the verses more than the chorus, the chorus is ok but i was expected something better. A respectable pick tho.
Molly Rainford - How Many Times: I liked it, kinda repetitive tho. Istg sometimes i thought Ariana Grande was singing. laughcry1
Laura Davidson - More Than A Friend: Idk whose idea was to start the song like that, they didn't even waste a single millisecond for an intro. It's giving Olivia Rodrigo from Walmart, i liked the chorus and the backing vocals during the last minute.
Relya Voy - Crying At The Moon: Didn't do anything for me, i liked the outro tho.
Adore Delano - Jump The Gun: My bussy got turned on with the intro until she started singing. The chorus is fire tho. Some parts of the verses is my biggest problem here only. Is it me or they used Christmas Bells during some parts of the song? gasp1
Delilah - Go: One of the few ballads in this round. I like the chorus and the vocals, probably my favorite production compared to the other picks, even tho some parts were boring.
Masquer - Bills Bills Bills: Are we allowed to use covers???? It's intriguing but it's unfair for the rest of the players, so i'll have to rank it lower.
BIIANCO - teeth bared: I liked the production, they didn't took advantage of it a lot. Lyrically kinda repetitive, the production saved it. The beat dropping was one of my fave parts of the round tho, she ate.
Ms. White - Jaded: Good vocals, nice melodies, i like the production complexity. The verses are kinda fire. I also like the sudden disco/house vibe it gets after the 3rd minute. gasp1

Lucky Day - This gives me Carly Rae Jepsen… unfortunately.

Body Heat - Started out promising but kind of went nowhere. Not too bad though.

Hurt Like Hell - Low key bop! I wish the chorus went off a bit more but I really enjoyed this.

How Many Times - I remember this! It’s such a nice bop. Deserved more.

More Than A Friend - Another bop! Really enjoyable from start to finish.

Crying At The Moon - I’m not loving it. Kind of annoying effects.

Jump The Gun - Expected to hate this. Then the intro started and I low key loved it. After one minute or so however I was DONE. A rollercoaster of emotions I guess. This will be difficult to place lol.

Go - I like it. It should have went off more after the “chorus” but I still enjoy this a lot.

Bills, Bills, Bills - No.

Teeth Bared - Interesting. Wow. This is amazing. The most unique song here I think.

Jaded - Not bad but not that interesting. Sorry.
