Carly Rae Jepsen | Carly Rae Jepsen | 8th Album | 2025

How fitting, that on the 12th Anniversary of “Call Me Maybe” being released (for Album #2 KISS) that she announces that she’s back in the studio for her next project. 👀

Seen here in studio with her longtime writing partner and band mate, Tavish Crowe. No idea who the producers on the right are…brit14

**Even though CRJ is working on her 8th album release, she is technically working on her 6th era**

CRJ has always given hints like Easter Eggs at what is next. Now that The Loneliest Time/The Loveliest Time eras are coming to an end….and with a few more shows left to do before December 1st, CRJ has moved on to the next era. In an interview that she did with Bustle, she has hinted at the “new project”:

Bustle Interview:

Is there a new genre you want to explore?

My boyfriend and I bought a guitar in New York for $500. We got it next door to the Chelsea Hotel at the last minute because we had a song idea that night. It travels with us everywhere, and we’ve been having so much fun with it. We’ve been trying folky songs again, and because we both really love jazz, it was a hint of a jazz-folk.

The most important song that no one saw coming as the basis for the new direction?  alex1

“Anything To Be With You” is probably the song on The Loveliest Time that everyone ignored. Not only was it the lead track, but I do believe it holds a secret to what her new sound will be.

This track is CRJ at her rawest - just jamming with the band and no doubt recording the whole song in one take. It’s a bit brash, it’s a bit jazz inspired and totally CRJ. Take this as a warning, her new era will be a freestyle joint come to life. yas1

CRJ posted a bunch of random photos on Instagram but these 2 are the most important. She’s recording in a new studio with 2 producers (I think that is Kyle on left, and another producer I don’t recognize) 👀 Taken on separate days:

It’s official CRJ8 is coming soon based on previous eras, she will disappear from socials except to give us song clips that never end up on the album, and voila - a new album will dro

She’s been so active with writing and recording that CRJ8 might be released in 2024
