This is actually quite impressive for a niche artist who isn't well known to the GP apart from two songs (Call Me Maybe and I Really Like You).  She has 11,8 million monthly listeners on Spotify whereas many small artists could only dream of having 1 million. This just shows how dedicated her fanbase is (we really are!).

Trivia: with an average of 30 million streams every month, she earns around 10,000$ per month from Spotify  Good for her Getting 10,000$ into her bank account each month

History has no ''if'', but it was so unfortunate that she had to cancel her 2 Christmas shows last year due to the pandemic. All the MONEY that she could have made from those 2 shows

@ajp Did you go to her Summer Kiss Tour in 2013? If you didn't, why did you skip it? 

(I know you skipped Gimmie Love Tour because you didn't want to pay to hear Hedley as the main act and Carly as the opening act)

Call Me Maybe has sold almost 40 million units worldwide as of 2022. Legendary song. Still listen to it every day.

Yes. I was lucky enough to get it from her US Webstore after they sold out and then restocked. I also have one that she did for Dedicated on her UK/EU Webstore.

Summer Kiss Tour was mostly US dates and the only ones she did in Canada were in Northern Ontario. So it was a no go for me. 
 

She didn’t tour Canada with Gimme Love Tour - so that sucked. The Hedley opening act slot, I was helping my dad move that day and was 2 hours away from the show. I have been to shows just to see opening acts and then leave
 

I would have died to see her perform with the Toronto Symphony but I was out of town then, too. So much bad luck. 
 

Her only headlining date to support an album was Dedicated Tour which was amazing!

Actually, being at the NAC - it was probably a flat fee regardless of how many tickets were sold. She probably still got an advance despite the shows being cancelled.

That’s is interesting. Is that her cut, or does she have to turn around and split that with the label, musicians and co-writers?

That's her cut ! edit: she earns about 15,000$/month , not 10,000$. Spotify pays 0.003$ per stream, 30 million streams = 90,000$. I calculated and found her songs have an average of 4 songwriters (she and 3 others - the producers are always the co-writers). 90,000 : 4 = 22500. The label earns some of that, so 15,000$ for her is the (almost) correct number.

Hundreds of fans left The only celebrity that gave their kid a normal name (kind of)'s Witness Tour right after Carly finished performing her 8-song opening setlist.

Her biggest source of income is still touring + merchandise + iTunes (to a lesser extent, Apple Music). 

For instance, her Dedicated Tour's San Francisco show on 28 June 2019 grossed 293,000$, half of that went to her, so she made 146,000$ from that show !  A huge improvement from Gimmie Tour's average gross of 10,000$ per show (not counting tour merchandise, which fans bought quite a lot before each show).

I wish she would do more physical product and less merchandise but I understand that she makes more money doing that. It was interesting in her releasing a 10 year anniversary vinyl of CMM. At least she is thinking outside the box.
