Josef Salvat – Open Season

Album: In Your Prime - EP

Josef Salvat has been gaining some hype lately based on his In Your Prime EP and its lead single, Open Season. A pop song for the hipsters, Open Season does a fine job at introducing Josef to the masses. Synths everywhere and a pleasant voice singing well written lyrics.

But I ain't gonna face this bump alone.

Tove Lo – My Gun

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pp3vaT39HPA

Album: Queen of the Clouds

When I first listened to Queen of the Clouds, My Gun was my first "crush". The lyrics are incredibly sultry but the production doesn't quite compliment them in that way and it sounds rather playful/poppy.

It's delicious though. PERFECT.POP.MUSIC.

You're fine, you're mine, I'm the mistake you wanna make.

David Guetta – Lovers On The Sun (feat. Sam Martin)

Album: Listen

David Guetta still has the ability to churn out 2 or 3 good singles per era among a sea of disappointing filler album tracks and Lovers On The Sun is no exception. It's important mentioning that Sam Martin's amazing vocals weigh more in this song's ranking than Guetta's production does and the French DJ was incredibly smart to choose Sam for this track.

We might as well be lovers on the sun.

Boots – EST

Album: WinterSpringSummerFall

The best track on Boots' debut mixtape, EST sounds a bit different from the rest of the tracks there, being rather eerie and chilly. The guy has a really beautiful singing voice and personally I am so curious to see him deliver even better songs on his debut album and with Beyonce herself.

Every single time that I wake up I'm falling... in love.

Iggy Azalea – Goddess

Album: The New Classic

Igloo Australia falls short of a goddess and that's been established already but she almost sounds convincing on her The New Classic track, Goddess.

Genuinely the best song on that album, Goddess brings the goodies from Iggy, a nice flow, the uplifting chorus and the guitars in the end make for a great track that's been unfortunately and unfairly not added on Reclassified.

Bow down to a goddess.

The Weeknd – Often

Album: Often - Single

I must admit that after The Weeknd's first studio album, Kiss Land, I had pretty much lost hope for him and his music, an overall bland effort subpar to his 2011 masterpiece mixtape House of Balloons.

The Weeknd seems to have caught a glimpse on this seeing that he went back in the studio and released this pussy popper, Often. Often screams SEX with Abel's vocals being as charming as ever and the production just makes you want go down on your bae and forgot there's a tomorrow.

Baby I can make that pussy rain... often.

Selena Gomez – The Heart Wants What It Wants

Album: For You

This song was for me a real grower, in that I didn't really care much for it at the beginning but then the American Music Awards performance Selena delivered was completely on point making me listen to the song more and more.

I don't even care the lyrics are for Justin Bieber because the melody is too good and takes my mind away from it. Great ballad from Selena, who's not a powerhouse vocalist at all but learned how to emote and believe in every word she sings.

But then you disappear and make me wait.

You+Me – You and Me

Album: roseave.

It surprises me that this song didn't become a hit after all even though I didn't have huge expectations for it from a commercial standpoint, I just hoped and thought it would catch up eventually. Oh well.

Easily the best song on P!nk and Dallas Green's collaboration, roseave., You and Me has a charming acoustic melody and once again the stunning vocals from both singers breathe so much life into the song.

I fear no thing as long as you're with me.

Miguel – simplethings

Album: Girls Soundtrack

After releasing the incredible Kaleidoscope Dream in 2012, Miguel went back in the studio probably being well aware that the hype around him is crazy and he has to put out something just as good. Taking his sweet time with the next album, he decided to release simplethings for the Girls soundtrack, season 3.

And the song is like, crazy good. simplethings wouldn't be out of place on Kaleidoscope Dream, the lyrics are smart and down to earth describing how simple things like laughing, smoking are just much better done with the one you love. Miguel just wants the simple things.

I just want you!

Taylor Swift – How You Get The Girl

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x28zid7_taylor-swift-how-you-get-the-girl-official-audio-hd-720p_music

Album: 1989

I remember the day Taylor's Coke commercial premiered with this song's chorus being played in the background and I went into panic mode; at the time we had only heard Shake It Off and the incredible Out Of The Woods so I just thought the album wasn't gonna be as good as I thought it would be if it was gonna have more How You Get The Girl type of songs on it.

Luckily I was proven wrong and How You Get The Girl itself is a damn earworm incredibly hard to get rid off. The lyrics are classic and it's just so damn catchy overall you can't help but LOVE it. Taylor doing pop music better than pop chanteuses that have been at it for years is something amazing.

I would wait forever and ever.
