Florence + the Machine's new album is being mixed now

Can someone with music production knowledge tell me what this means in terms of release? Should we expect it in the next couple of months? Is it normal to have an album completely mixed and otherwise finished yet not release it for a period of time?

Mixing is one of the last few steps towards release. Mixing usually starts after all major recording is finished. The only process beyond that would be mastering, which is essentially the icing on the cake. Depending on how much of a rush job this is, I'd estimate at least two months until we get anything. The album might be anywhere from six months to a year away. I know that Florence + The Machine tend not to rush releases, so I'd guess we'll get at least two singles before the album drops. Presuming they're given proper promotion, I'd guess we'll see the album in like...seven months, optimistically?

I thought we'd still be a while away moo1

The wait will be 100% worth it if this album is even half of what Ceremonials was. antm1
