I like Katy, but I don't see half of the Teenage Dream singles being 'classics' in the same way as Mariah's early singles are. 

 

Plus Katy got there by features and lots of remixes

I see what you mean about Breakdown, since there's no way any of us can tell if it really was going to go #1, but I do feel All I Want for Christmas Is You was destined to smash since it did so well around the world even at the time of release.
