  1. Yes. All my friends used to play that song as well as Diet MTN Dew xD
  2. :legend: One of her best. Live version:
  3. It starts at 40 usually not 5
  4. Why would Katy NEED to pay for Airplay? All her songs are huge on radio without it. I mean Katy chose Dark Horse as third single JUST because the song wouldn't stop selling. You get Airplay based on sales. If Katy was actually paying for airplay, Unconditionally would NOT have flopped. Radio takes up 55% of the Hot 100 and Uncle only managed #14. If Katy was paying for Airplay, Uncle could have at least got a Top 5.
  5. The light purple was a bit much for me. But she rocked dark purple imo.
  6. Born To Die sold 6 million+ Basically she's coming for anyone who can't sell that much
  7. The GP rate the songs on iTunes, don't they? No matter how much Lana fans spam, the GP haven't left negative reviews like they do on other songs. As soon as a song gets enough negative reviews, it can no longer have a 5 star rating.
  8. Exactly. For a singles artist being one spot away from being #1, Lorde's credibility is going down the drain  I wouldn't boast.
  9. Well, yes. Her debut has sold 6 million with no hit single from it (the remix isn't available on the album).
  10. No ones saying that. But Lana isn't making 80's pop music like Katy or Gaga did. She's making 70's/80's slow rock. It's not for everyone. But the fact it's #3 on iTunes right now, passing the #4 that Summertime Sadness remix ever peaked on iTunes, it's definately a good song. It's just not a genre the fans of pop music would consider their genre
  11. Exactly. Glad someone knows what they are talking about (I said 70s earlier as well). People who claim this is more of the same have either not listened to Lana's music or have no idea how to recognize music
  12. Exactly. She kept her vocal delivery the same while changing her sound from 1960's baroque pop to a 1980's slow rock, with other elements. But everything on Born To Die was orchestral based with some pop rock elements (baroque pop basically) where as this shows no example of such a thing.
  13. Well it is a new sound instrumental wise. Vocally though, it's Lana being Lana.
  14. Oh check it out. The reviews for West Coast are coming in, comparing it to the 1980's and 1980's songs: http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2014/apr/14/lana-del-rey-west-coast-new-music http://www.vulture.com/2014/04/hear-lana-del-reys-new-single-west-coast.html Just cut your losses I guess?
  15. #36 She keeps rising so fast.
  16. She just jumped to #54 @ Sorry to say, but someone who doesn't sell singles, jumping to #54 already is not "over".
  17. So am I. I'm comparing the end synth to the synth used in Lana's song. Not the entirety of the song. It's obvious you haven't listened to Born To Die. Every song has orchestral elements, with a hint of blues (aka a huge take on classic 1950's/1960's sound). There is nothing orchestral or bluesy about West Coast. That alone differentiates this song from her other works. But yes, the end synth of West Coast is extremely similar to that of Ashes To Ashes. Although Ashes to Ashes does it better. But that's the era of which the sound comes from. ---- As I said, the song is typica
